This Sweepstakes is intended for play in the United States only and shall only be construed and evaluated according to United States law. Do not enter this Sweepstakes if you are not located in the United States at the time of entry.
Sweet Ride Sweepstakes ("Sweepstakes") 2008 OFFICIAL RULES
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. PURCHASE DOES NOT INCREASE YOUR CHANCES OF WINNING. VOID IN ALASKA, ARIZONA, ARKANSAS, MINNESOTA, MISSISSIPPI, NORTH DAKOTA, VERMONT AND WHERE PROHIBITED.
1. Eligibility Requirements: Open to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (excluding Alaska, Arizona, Arkansas, Minnesota, Mississippi, North Dakota and Vermont) and the District of Columbia who are 18 years of age or older. Employees, contractors, directors and officers of American General Finance, Inc. ("Sponsor"), its parent, subsidiary and affiliated companies, distributors, web design, advertising, fulfillment, judging and sweepstakes agencies involved in the administration, development, fulfillment and execution of this Sweepstakes (collectively, "Sweepstakes Parties"), and the immediate family members of each (spouse, parent, child, sibling, grandparent, and spouse of "step" of each) and those living in their same households (those persons whether related or not who live in the same residence for at least three months during the twelve-month period preceding the start date of the Sweepstakes) are not eligible to participate.
2. Sweepstakes Period: You may enter the Sweepstakes between 12:00:00 am Eastern Time ("ET") on 2/15/08 and 11:59:59 pm ET on 12/31/08 ("Sweepstakes Period").
3. To Enter: There are three (3) free methods of entry: via in-store visit; online; and via mail. In-store visit: Pick up a free official entry form between 2/15/08 and 12/31/08 on special displays at participating American General Finance, Inc. locations, while supplies last. Legibly hand-print your name, complete home address (no P.O. boxes please), date of birth, and daytime phone number on the entry form and drop into the official entry box in Store by close of business on 12/31/08. Online: To enter the Sweepstakes online, you must provide a valid email address. Log on to www.agfsweetride.com (the "Web Site") during the Sweepstakes Period. Follow on-screen directions to properly complete an online registration form to be entered into the prize Drawing. By providing your email address, you acknowledge you may receive email solicitations from American General Finance. You may later elect not to receive future email solicitations from American General Finance. Automated methods of entry are prohibited. Via Mail: To enter the Sweepstakes via mail, on a piece of paper, approximately 3" by 5", legibly hand-print your name, complete home address (no P.O. boxes please), daytime phone number and date of birth. Mail your entry to: Sweet Ride Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 1029, Elmhurst, IL 60126. Entry must be mailed in a hand-addressed, postmarked outer envelope. Limit one (1) mailed entry per outer postmarked envelope. Entries must be postmarked by 12/31/08 and received by 1/7/09. All Entries: No photocopies or mechanically reproduced entries allowed. Sponsor not responsible for entries or mail that is late, lost, misdirected, mutilated, incomplete, illegible or postage-due. Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned. Limit of one (1) entry may be submitted per person and/or email address per day throughout the Sweepstakes Period, regardless of method of entry. A "Day" is defined as the 24 hours between 12:00:00 am ET and 11:59:59 pm ET throughout the Sweepstakes Period. Mailed entries are considered entered on the day the entry is postmarked.
4. Drawing, Prizes and Approximate Retail Value ("ARV"): Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received from all entry methods combined. Winner ("Winner") will be selected in a random drawing from all eligible entries received. Drawing will be conducted on or about 1/16/09 by Marketing Resources, Inc., an independent judging organization ("Judges"), whose decisions shall be final and binding on all matters relating to the Sweepstakes.
One (1) Grand Prize: Winner's choice of ONE of the following two (2) options:
Option 1 - a 2009 Ford Mustang Convertible V6 Deluxe 2dr Convertible (4.0L 6cyl with automatic transmission). ARV: $30,000.
Option 2 - a 2009 Ford F-150 Pick-up STX 2dr Regular Cab Flareside 6.5 ft SB (4.2L 6cyl with automatic transmission). ARV: $30,000.
At Winner's discretion, a cash alternative of $20,000 may be selected in lieu of Grand Prize vehicle. Vehicle will be delivered with standard equipment, as described above; any upgrades and options are at the sole expense of the Winner. Color, package, factory options, and other prize specifics to be determined by Sponsor and are subject to availability. Sponsor does not make, nor in any manner is responsible or liable for any warranty, representation or guarantee, express or implied, in fact or in law, relative to the vehicle including but not limited to its quality, fitness for purpose or mechanical condition. Grand Prize Winner must have proof of a valid United States driver's license from their state or place of residence in the United States to take delivery of vehicle; failure to show same may result in prize forfeiture and selection of an alternate winner. Winner will be responsible for all optional equipment, title, license, insurance and registration fees required in claiming the vehicle, applicable taxes as well as all other expenses relating to the receipt and use of Grand Prize vehicle, including any travel and transportation costs associated with collecting the vehicle. All other costs not specifically stated herein as being awarded are the responsibility of the Winner. Winner will be provided instructions to obtain his/her Grand Prize vehicle at a dealership to be determined by Sponsor. Winner must take delivery of vehicle within 30 days of notification that dealership has received vehicle. Delivery of a Grand Prize vehicle subject to manufacturer, distributor and dealer manufacturing, production and delivery schedules.
5. General Conditions: Winner is solely responsible for any taxes on the Grand Prize, and Grand Prize Winner will be issued an IRS Form 1099 for the ARV of the prize. No transfer of prize. By participating, entrants agree to these Official Rules and Sponsor's Privacy Policy (available at www.agfsweetride.com) which are final and binding in all respects. No substitution of prize is offered, except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. No transfer of prize. Potential Winner will be notified by mail. If potential Winner is an eligible minor in his/her state of residence, prize will be awarded to a parent or legal guardian, who must sign all required documents. Potential Winner (and Winners parent or legal guardian, if Winner is an eligible minor in his/her state of residence) will be required to complete, sign and return an Affidavit of Eligibility/Liability Release, and, where lawful, a Publicity Release within ten (10) days of attempted notification or prize may be forfeited. If prize correspondence is returned as non-deliverable, prize will be forfeited and may be awarded to an alternate winner. If prize cannot be awarded for any reason, Sponsor reserves the right to substitute prize with another prize of equal or greater value. If for any reason the online portion of the Sweepstakes is not capable of running as planned for any reason, including infection by computer virus or bug, tampering, unauthorized intervention, fraud, technical failures, or any other causes which corrupt or affect the administration, security, fairness, integrity or proper conduct of the Sweepstakes, Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to cancel, modify or terminate the online portion of the Sweepstakes. In the event of cancellation, prizes will be awarded in a random drawing from eligible non-suspect entries received prior to cancellation and in-store/mail-in entries. Sponsor reserves the right to disqualify any individual who is responsible or who tampers with the entry process. This Sweepstakes is offered only in the United States and is governed by the laws of the state of Indiana, and all claims must be resolved in the federal or state courts of Vanderburgh County, Indiana.
6. Limitations of Liability and Release: No responsibility or liability is assumed by the Sponsor or Sweepstakes Parties for technical problems arising in connection with any of the following occurrences, without limitation, that may affect the operation of the Sweepstakes: hardware or software errors; faulty computer, telephone, cable, satellite, network, electronic, wireless or Internet connectivity or other online communication problems; errors or limitations of any Internet service providers, servers, hosts or providers; garbled, jumbled or faulty data transmissions; lost, late, delayed or intercepted e-mail transmissions; inaccessibility of the Web Site in whole or in part for any reason; traffic congestion on the Internet or Web Site; or unauthorized human or non-human intervention, including without limitation, unauthorized tampering, hacking, theft, virus, bug, worm. Sponsor is not responsible for any typographical errors in the announcement of prize or these Official Rules, or any inaccurate or incorrect data contained on the Web Site. Use of Web Site is at user's own risk. Sponsor and the Sweepstakes Parties are not responsible for any personal injury or property damage or losses of any kind that may be sustained to user's or any other person's computer equipment resulting from participation in the Sweepstakes, use of the Web Site or the download of any information from the Web Site. By participating in the Sweepstakes, the entrant thereby releases Sponsor and Sweepstakes Parties from any and all claims, damages or liabilities arising from or relating to such entrant's participation in the Sweepstakes. By accepting a prize, recipient agrees that the Sponsor, Sweepstakes Parties, and all of their respective officers, directors, employees, representatives and agents will have no liability whatsoever for, and shall be held harmless by Winner against, any liability for injuries, losses or damages of any kind to persons or property resulting in whole or in part, directly or indirectly, from participation in the Sweepstakes; from acceptance, possession, misuse or use of a prize, or any travel related thereto. Except if Winner is a resident of TN, or where prohibited by law, by accepting prize, Winner grants permission for Sponsor and those acting under its authority to use his/her name, photograph, voice and/or likeness, for advertising and/or publicity purposes, in any and all media now known or hereinafter invented without territorial or time limitations and without additional compensation.
7. Winners List Request: For the name of the Winner, send a self-addressed, stamped envelope, received by 1/31/08 to: Sweet Ride Sweepstakes Winners List Request, P.O. Box 1518, Elmhurst, IL 60126.
